With Open Door since 1990

Rita is an avid reader and voracious learner who constantly strives for innovative ways to improve her life and the lives of others. Open Door has not only given Rita the freedom to do so, but has encouraged her to utilize these passions to help create an agency that she is honored to be a part of. The motto "change is good" has always been Rita's rallying cry, and over time has become the Open Door way.

With Open Door since 1995

Gene is our “people person.” He loves to meet new people, learn new things, and share his vast experiences. Gene also is our “educator.” He presents and teaches many of Open Door’s ongoing trainings and is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). Gene loves all animals but especially his two furry babies, Tank & Trixie, who like to visit the office on occasion.

Life is an adventure, and you never know where it will take you. For Terra, it led her to Open Door, a place where personal and professional growth is fostered and encouraged. She also found an extended family that she is eternally grateful for. In her spare time she loves scrapbooking all of the adventures life takes her on or enjoying quiet time at home, reading and providing a lap for her cat, Chumley.

Family and friends are very important to Barb. She is originally from Minnesota, and she enjoys making trips back to her hometown to spend time with loved ones. Barb is thankful that Open Door has given her the opportunity to grow her career throughout the years, and she is thrilled to be a part of the team.

Family is very important to Alicia. She enjoys spending her free time with family, whether it be cooking together, playing a card game, or playing with any one of her family’s three cats. Alicia has also found an extended family here at Open Door that has helped her to grow and flourish.

Laurie loves spending time with her family and friends, whether it be a good conversation or working on a home improvement project. She truly enjoys exploring state parks hiking, biking, kayaking, or just simply relaxing in the tranquility and absorbing the beauty of nature. Laurie also enjoys cooking, especially trying new recipes, because she is never afraid to try something new.

What began as a career change quickly became a lifelong journey of personal growth and professional development for Laurie. She is forever grateful for meaningful and enduring relationships that have been made with her extended family at Open Door. She would not be the person she is today without them. Kayla is a forever student. She loves to keep her mind working by learning something new every day. Whether that be with a new book, a daily podcast, or simply chatting with friends, she strives to become the best version of herself. Kayla also loves to spend time with her family and friends, especially her two fur babies, Georgie and Chapo. Kayla likes to stay very busy. She loves to exercise, try out new recipes, and anything that engages her mind or body. Kayla is thrilled to be a part of the Open Door family and looks forward to growing her career with us.
