Open Door’s footprint in the community includes nine homes, two training centers, an administration building, and familiar vans that take clients to work and training programs, medical appointments, and fun activities.
Beyond our visibility, however, we regularly reach out to neighbors to give back – participating in job fairs and events, offering panel discussions and consultations to schools, businesses, or anyone interested in learning about the services we provide to individuals and businesses. The Open Door team is always available for tours and/or to speak at community events.
Open Door staff regularly works with community leaders and first responders to make sure we communicate the very latest news and developments with our clients and our industry. Will we be moving clients to a different home? Do we have clients who would like to help with seasonal activities? Is there new research about interacting with clients who have intellectual/developmental disabilities?
We believe that community relationships are a two-way street. We do everything we can to maintain communications, activities, and services in order to be the very best neighbors in our community!
